The Dummy is a miniboss in the Ruins, alongside the Ruins Bullies.

Appearance

The Dummy's appearance is largely unchanged from the original timeline, save for a pair of sunglasses and a spiked collar given to them by Loox and Migosp.

Main Story

Ruins Arc

The Dummy's first appearance in the Ruins Arc was in the latter half of part 3B (page 115 to be exact) alongside the Ruins Bullies. The trio was briefly in a conversation about appearances and apparel (presumably the Dummy's) before engaging in battle with Frisk. The Dummy stays silent for the duration of the fight, and doesn't have a reaction of any form until Frisk has low enough HP to be killed, where they don a distressed look, but are unable to prevent Frisk's temporary demise at the end of the battle.

In Part 4A,the conversation about appearances persists, but is instead about the subject of keeping the tough attitude instead of apparel. The events that follow are parallel to Frisk's first attempt of the fight, other than them sparing Loox successfully. After failed negotiation with Migosp, Frisk attempts to talk to the Dummy, which yearns no results until Frisk mentions that the Dummy can still turn it's life around. The Dummy's distressed look then makes a return, and after Frisk's hug to the dummy, increases severity due to the loss of their sunglasses. When Frisk offers them back, the Dummy refuses, realizing that they never needed to change to the edgy, punk look that they had prior. The Dummy then excuses itself from the battle while also, in Chara's words, "tiring of Migosp's aimless shenanigans".

Trivia

• The Dummy's sunglasses seem reminiscent of Mettaton's, which would make logical sense due to his influence in the Ruins, but this could be an oversight.
• The Dummy is actually stronger here than in the old world, having 5 ATK and 5 DEF here compared to their original 0 ATK and 0 DEF. This could be due to the sunglasses and spiked collar, but specific details on this are unknown.
